The River Warrior nomination hit us

Erika Jung

Every nomination or an award is pleasing, it is an evaluation that what we do we do well. Our founder and director, Erika Jung, received the "River Warrior of the Month" award from River Cleanup for the month of February. This award pleasantly surprised us, and of course, pleased us and we think it is well deserved.

Congratulations.

Erika Jung

For many years, Erika has been striving to improve our environment and, by collecting garbage, regularly contributes to improving the condition of our rivers.

Waste is a huge global problem that plagues our world. Every day we produce an enormous amount of it, throw it away in nature, then it circulates all over the world and eventually we consume it as well. It is a matter that concerns everyone and everyone should be interested in this issue, but it is not. If we clean part of the banks of the Danube one weekend, we have almost the same situation in two weeks, because the water will flood the garbage again, and only because someone was "lazy" to throw the plastic bottle in the trash. It's like tilting at windmills, but it's also our place to live that needs to be taken care of. We live in the environment we create. It's great to see people's growing interest in protecting the environment, but it's still not enough. The importance of protection and the real value of the environment must be recognized by the most influential people and governments.

The work done by Erika Jung is therefore truly exceptional and at the same time she tries to be followed by as many people as possible. As she says, she acts locally, but she thinks globally. She wants to transform her efforts into a more beautiful future, especially for future generations who will occupy this planet after us. We believe that as many people as possible, who are not indifferent to the condition of our nature, will join her, and together we will help the environment in which it is worth to live.

Erika loves nature and water the most, she is a place where she spends her free time. A place he is looking for and claims to need our protection. ,,I grew up at the confluence of two rivers. My father was a paddler and a captain, we spent our whole lives by the water, he showed me its beauty. I consider it my responsibility and life duty to address this very topic and show people the connection between the need to protect the environment and health and save our ecosystems, essentially the life on earth. I like most, when children get involved. They are really shocked by everything that gets thrown away into nature and they just don't understand. They are also proud that they, being the smallest, can show the “big” adults, how to treat nature. That's so nice - and at the same time food for thought. JI would like all rivers to be clean and people to appreciate them more. Water is a precious resource and vital for life, so walking by the water sources should be perceived as coming close to an altar of life, to one of the greatest gifts on the planet. The place, where we feel the energy of life flowing, as the waters of the rivers, seas and the oceans are one water system of life that unites us on this earth. "
