Clean Danube Experience Bratislava

Zaži čistý Dunaj

Clean Danube Experience
7th June 2020, 3 p.m.

Indulge in a unique collective experience of cleaning our environment, while discovering what needs to be cleared inside of us!

Zážitok

You are cordially invited to the first endeavour, which will allow us to intensively perceive our natural environment collectively: to really see, hear, touch, smell and taste it. We will focus on the area of Pečňa forest and Danube beach. We will deepen the connection with ourselves, strengthen our bonds as a community, become more aware of the precious natural treasures and support their protection.

Zaži čistý Dunaj

Why Pečňa forest?

In the Slovak part of Danube shores, there is only a fraction of the primeval floodplain forests preserved - one of them being so-called Pečňa forest. It is also one of the focus areas of the project LIFE10 NAT/SK/080 - Protection and renewal of territories NATURA 2000, of which main goal is to preserve the most precious biotopes and most endangered species of plants and animals.

We chose this area also because it protects the sources of drinking water for Bratislava. More than 150 000 local inhabitants!

Zaži čistý Dunaj

This is also the only activity on this day in Slovakia, which is a part of the global event River Cleanup,  a joint environmental effort of 150 teams from 73 cities worldwide. Clean Danube Experience is an opportunity to explore, clean and protect this precious territory - that is part of Bratislava and a part of You.

Who is behind this?

Activity is organized by Human Health Institute in collaboration with civic association Za našu vodu and non-governmental organization Žiť vedomo, and is led by:

- environment specialist and project manager Mgr. Lucia Olivia Ďurčová
