Family day at Rozmarínová elementary school

Human Health Institute and Rozmarínová elementary school made an effort to organize an unforgettable event for everyone. Foreign students, shootout or a lot of blood – this all was contained in the script of the day, but let’s take it step by step.

This project was held under the auspices of Ministry of Health of the Slovak republic.

                  Since the morning Slovak students were looking forward to foreign visit, students of elementary school Life Family Work in Vienna. There came about a dozen little children with three teachers to see differences from Slovak education system.

Older students of home school were already awaiting them at the lobby of the school at different educational stations with different activities. English was the main language they used to communicate between each other.

After they successfully made it through every station, they went on a short sightseeing tour to the center of the Komárno.

Meanwhile, a “blood bath” was happening in the other part of the school. In one of the classrooms a mobile blood transfusion station was established, where every visitor could have donated the one of the most valuable liquid – blood. In the next classrooms there was a presentation about how the blood is donated, showed to Slovak students.

After that they could see this whole process on their own eyes. Fortunately, there was a high interest in blood donating and there were many people who wanted to donate for the first time.

It was really heart touching to see all those people who came just to help someone else, even unknown patient. It was not surprise that doctors stayed for a little longer as they planned.

We are really happy for all those who came and supported this idea, thank you.

This blood will go to the leukemic patient Anet from Komárno, who is treated in National oncology facility in Bratislava, and to other patients of this facility. 

Anet unfortunately couldn’t attend this event, but her mother was there, and she was delighted when she saw how many people came to support her daughter.

Afternoon program began with shooting. Financial administration of Slovak republic had a demonstration of how they fight against criminals.

At first a detection dog Hutch successfully searched for an illegal substances in boxes and he didn’t hesitate even there was a smell of goulash around.

Then policemen in balaclavas showed us how they disarm dangerous delinquents using their guns. All seemed to be very realistic, even passersby were scared what is happening in the school area.

Students then could look closer to these guns or make a picture with them. Also Austrian students prepared an accompanying program for us. They are members of the school orchestra, so they played popular songs and the audience had enjoyed it very much. They preheated the stage for the next musical show – Slovak rapper Suvereno. His performance was also educational and children, who were all the time on the stage with Suvereno, liked it. Except of music, there was a dance as well.

Capoeira is a martial art that contains a lot dance elements and right these moves was shown us by young capoeirists from Komárno.

Except artistic performances visitors could have known more about their health, about their body – in the station of Všeobecná zdravotná poisťovňa (General health insurance company), where they did a body measurement.

Own stations had different producers of healthy, eco, zero-waste and many other products. Everyone was consuming a goulash for the rest of the day, the good mood persisted and the last attendants leaved almost at twilight.

Every organizer was really tired in that evening, but had good feeling about successful charity day.

Particularly the main purpose of this event – the blood donation – ended beyond expectations of all.

We hope that the donated blood will help cure Anet from the malignant disease and that she will return among us soon.
